This number connects homeowners who are planning a new roof or a full roof replacement with independent local roofing contractors. It is not for leak repairs or patch jobs. The call must come from the homeowner who decides on the roof. Calls may be recorded.
Roofs Philadelphia connects homeowners with independent local roofing contractors. We do not perform roofing work.
Type a house number and street. The search covers 13,120 EZ roof covering replacement permits issued from 2015 through 2026-10-23.
The box above searches a copy of every permit the City has issued with the type "EZ Roof Covering Replacement": 13,120 permits from 2015, when the type first appears, through October 23, 2026. The copy was taken from the City's open data on October 24, 2026. The search runs on your device: the address you type is not sent to this site or to anyone else.
How to search
Type the house number and the start of the street the way the City writes it: "2400 S 7TH ST", "6500 CASTOR AVE". Words like "Street" and "South" are shortened for you. If nothing comes up, try just the number and the street name.
What the results mean
Issued is the date L&I issued the permit, not the date the roof was finished.
Completed means the permit was closed after the work. Expired means the permit's term ran out in the City's system; that alone does not show whether the work was done.
One house can have several permits: a roof replaced twice, or a permit pulled again after one expired.
What the lookup cannot tell you
Work before 2015, or a roof done under a full building permit rather than an EZ permit, does not appear. Only 9 EZ roof permits were issued in all of 2015 and 21 in 2016; the type came into regular use in 2019 (968 that year).
Unpermitted work leaves no record.
The price. The City's records carry no job amounts.
The material. The permit says roof covering; the TP_019_F certificate the contractor files at the end names the material, and a copy should be with the house papers.
Using it before you call
A roof replaced in 2019 or later is, by HUD's useful-life table, young for any material. A house with no permit and an old roof is the usual case for a full replacement. Either way, mention the year on the call. For the city as a whole and by ZIP code, see the ZIP code pages.
Questions
How can I find out when my Philadelphia roof was last replaced?
Search the address in this site’s roof permit lookup, a copy of every EZ Roof Covering Replacement permit the City issued from 2015 through October 23, 2026, 13,120 in all. The search runs on your device, so the address you type is not sent anywhere.
What does Expired mean on a Philadelphia roof permit?
It means the permit’s term ran out in the City’s system, which alone does not show whether the work was done. Completed means the permit was closed after the work, and the Issued date is when L&I issued it, not when the roof was finished.
Why doesn’t my house show a roof permit?
Work before 2015, a roof done under a full building permit instead of an EZ permit, and unpermitted work leave no record in the lookup. The EZ roof type was rare at first, with 9 permits in 2015 and 21 in 2016, and came into regular use in 2019.
Does a Philadelphia roof permit show the price or the material?
No. The City’s records carry no job amounts, and the permit says only roof covering. The material is named on the TP_019_F certificate the contractor files at the end, and a copy should be with the house papers.
